I’ve released KeywordMoves 0.4.0 with a way to keep keyword evidence under review. It now records dated observations, shows gaps in coverage and checks which measurements can sensibly be compared.
The earlier song-keyword review was about finding truthful language for the songs. This update is about keeping the evidence behind that language current.
Keeping different measurements separate
A Google Trends index, a website impression and a YouTube search referral tell me different things. A phrase found in a caption tells me something else again. The monitor keeps the source, metric, date, geography and report scope with each observation.
It can flag a stale report, a failed collection or a missing result. It also keeps the last available observation, so a later failure doesn’t quietly become a zero.
Text alternative: the nine-second clip filters the report to Google, then missing coverage, then TikTok, before returning to all rows. The Google example shows a compatible change in website impressions from 10 to 20. The TikTok example has unknown completeness. These invented examples demonstrate the software, not demand for a real song.
A change needs comparable evidence
Change alerts require matching source context and compatible measurements. Rounded estimates, censored values and differently normalised indices don’t become precise growth claims. Search Console and channel-performance comparisons also need suitable reporting periods.
The Trends import has been tightened too. Top indices, Rising percentages and Breakout labels keep their own units. A series containing missing or censored points keeps the original points without acquiring an invented exact average.
What still needs checking
The release provides watchlists, history and coverage reporting across the twelve search and social platforms in the review. It can prepare bounded collection plans through the existing Search Console, YouTube Analytics and Bing Webmaster readers.
That doesn’t establish account access or a global search-volume figure for every network. Actual permitted exports and authorised account checks are still needed. Installing KeywordMoves doesn’t start a background collector or a paid request.
KeywordMoves 0.4.0 is available on GitHub, with installable packages, checksums and a monitoring guide. Its checks passed across Python 3.10–3.13. The next useful step is to verify more real sources and retain their limits alongside their results.
